Looking for a Parallel Kingdom alternative?
If you miss putting a fantasy world on top of your actual neighborhood, Mapsworn may feel familiar. It is a free, independent browser MMO built around a real-world map, monsters, land claims, cities and kingdoms.
It is not Parallel Kingdom revived, and it is not affiliated with that game or its creators. Here is what you can expect before you jump in.

What feels familiar
The real map is the game world
Your phone's location places your hero among the streets around you. Tap within your walking circle or travel in real life to explore another area.
Claim land that matters
Plant flags on the map, build up your territory, found cities and join other players in a kingdom. Your claims persist after you log off.
Monsters and progress
Fight creatures on the map, collect Pages to level up, improve equipment and take on larger challenges as your hero grows.
A shared world
Other players can see and interact with your claims. You can chat, trade, make friends and work together, although your local area may be quiet.
What Mapsworn does differently
Browser first
Play on a phone or desktop without an app-store install. On PC, Settler mode lets you choose a home city and move by clicking the map.
Combat has its own rhythm
Tap a creature to engage. Basic attacks run automatically while you choose when to use available abilities, equipment and healing.
Small, live community
Mapsworn is still growing. You may not meet another active player nearby on your first day, so the opening is designed to work solo too.
Free and in active development
You can try it without paying or installing. It is an evolving game built by a solo developer, so expect changes and occasional rough edges.
Try the first five minutes
- Open the game and make a guest hero. You can add an email later to keep that hero across devices.
- Use your phone's GPS, or choose a home location in PC Settler mode.
- Tap within the dashed circle to move, try a nearby creature or resource, then follow the opening objective toward your first flag.
The blue compass previews another player's territory; it does not teleport your hero. Use BACK TO ME to return to your location.
